Yale Peabody Museum – a special tour before major renovations begin
170 Whitney Avenue, New Haven (meet in the lobby)
Sunday, November 10, 2019
1:00 – 3:00 pm
Join Peabody Museum staff for a curator’s tour of Ancient Mesopotamia Speaks, a groundbreaking exhibition that brings this ancient world to life. We will focus on the role of women in the ancient world – “Letters on marriage, raising children, the first day of school, even divorce and adoption, demonstrate that we’re not that different from people living so far away and so long ago!” Explore the galleries and talk with Peabody staff members about the upcoming renovations. Visit the Ladies First exhibition, specifically curated by the Peabody Museum’s EVOLUTIONS Afterschool Program for the celebration of coeducation. And Nicole Palffy-Muhoray ‘16 PhD, Assistant Director of Student Programs, will take us on a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Entomology collection!
Registration is limited to 30 people. Yale Peabody Museum has generously waived the admission fee. Please: if you register for this event and your plans change and are no longer able to join us, let us know so that we can make your space available to another alum.
Register no later than Sunday, November 3rd to Susan Lennon ’85 MPPM at [email protected].
If you are not able to join us on November 10th, be sure to check the calendar of events and visit before renovations begin!
