YaleWomen Writers Special Meeting: Agent talk with Rica Allannic of David Black Agency

Join us for a discussion with literary agent and Yale alumna Rica Allannic. She'll share her insights on what agents are looking for in a query letter and sample pages, what writers should look for in an agent, and more!

Rica Allannic, a literary agent with the David Black Agency with twenty years of publishing experience, specializes in representing authors writing cookbooks and narrative nonfiction and helping authors from diverse backgrounds tell the stories that are important to them. A graduate of New York City public schools and Yale University, Rica worked in professional kitchens before joining the editorial team at Scribner (Simon & Schuster). As VP and Executive Editor at Clarkson Potter (Penguin Random House), she acquired and edited books by bestselling authors David Chang, Christina Tosi, Luke Barr, and Mimi Thorisson (now a client). Rica brings her love of food and everything French as well as her Puerto Rican heritage to her role as a literary agent and uses her unique editorial experience to help clients shape their projects and to advocate for them at every stage of the publishing process.
