Launching a Publication—A Behind the Scenes Look. Genea Tafesse is one of the founders and managing editor of the short story anthology magazine/publication Write Volumes. Write Volumes publishes on Amazon 1-3 times a year with an overall theme for each edition. Since 2019, 6 anthologies have been published. Write Volumes’ goal is to promote quality writing especially from emerging writers and diverse voices. It is formed by authors for authors and strives to help authors succeed and to entertain readers. Genea will discuss the journey from Write Volumes’ idea to creation touching upon pitfalls, insights learned, and next steps as Write Volumes continues to grow. If you’re curious about the writing process or simply how an idea evolves into a book people can buy to read, then join Yale Women for this behind the scenes look at launching a publication.
As a newer publication, Write Volumes is always on the lookout for anthology reviewers and submissions (next topic is Shades of Chaos due May 15th). Please contact Genea.
Join a community of YaleWomen writers on Zoom to share successes and challenges, exchange tips on the craft and business of writing, and remind ourselves that all of our stories matter. All writers are welcome, regardless of genre, medium, or level of experience.
Second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 pm EST/EDT.
You'll receive an email with the login info after you RSVP. Hope to "see" you on Zoom!
