Join YaleWomen Boston for a Guided Walking Tour of the Restored Muddy River!
After nearly sixty years below ground, unseen by park visitors and passersby, portions of the Muddy River were uncovered to flow once again through the Back Bay Fens, marking the completion of the first phase of the Muddy River Restoration Project. On this walking tour led by an Emerald Necklace Conservancy docent, participants will learn about the project that transformed what was once a paved parking lot into new parkland, bringing a Frederick Law Olmsted-designed landscape back to life. The tour will begin and end at the entrance to REI at the Landmark Center. Wear walking shoes and bring a water bottle. Tours are cancelled for rain or extreme weather. Check website www.emeraldnecklace.org for updates or call 617-522-2700.
Getting there: Public Transportation: Take the Green Line “D” train to the Fenway T-Stop. There is parking available at the Landmark Center. Wear walking shoes and bring a water bottle.
