Name: Ursula Burton

Where you live: Santa Monica, CA
What you do: Writer-Director-Actor. I am also a Professor of the Practice teaching filmmaking at Otis College of Art and Design.
Your family: I’m married to Darin Henry and have two kids: Dashiell and Athena Burton.
Other Yale volunteer work: In addition to being on the YaleWomen Council, I am on the Board of The Yale Club of LA, the Board of YaleWomen LA, and I have been a Class Reunion Co-Chair.
Something we might not know about you: I also am the creator of a line of playing cards sold through the Gottman Institute, on mindfulness and life questions. Titles include: 52 Questions Before Marriage or Moving In, 52 Questions Before Baby, and 52 Questions After 50. In addition, my husband and I have a family comic book company called Sitcomics.
Favorite Yale memory: So many wonderful memories, a few that immediately come to mind–watchingmy Californian classmates experiencing the first snow-fall on Old Campus my frosh year, winning the crew National Championship, ringing the bells in Harkness Tower, and making life-long friends.
Which two Yale women would you ask to join you for lunch and why: There are so many Yale women I’d love to get to know. I suppose I’d start any series of YaleWomen lunch dates with my sister, Maria Burton ’85 and my classmate Sue Waterbury Brown ’88 – I know that lunch would be engaging and hilarious, and I would leave reinvigorated and my best self.
