What you do: Senior Project Leader at L’Oréal Research & Innovation Laboratory where I lead a group of scientists to create disruptive innovation in cosmetics industry. I am the founder of 3M ® Innovation Model where I teach Innovation and New Product Development courses at Yale in collaboration with School of Engineering and Tsai CITY (Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale). I also serve in the board of North East Islamic Community Center in NY as the President –the first female president.
Your family: My husband, Nebi Demirsoy, who is the greatest spouse/father/friend in the universe, works as the director of a non-profit firm in NY. We got married the summer before I started grad school in 2007. One lovely daughter, Sema Demirsoy, who goes to kindergarten.
Other Yale volunteer work: Yale NJ Alumni Association, on the committee of interviewers for Yale applicants, organizer of Yale Day of Service.
Something we might not know about you: By the time I finished school, I managed to live in 3 continents and visit 13 countries on a student budget ( i.e. China, England, Czech Republic, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Belgium.) Love traveling and learning about different cultures, food, and people.
