Potluck & Conversation: 2014 Sochi Olympics and Russia’s Global Role

Join us for an informal, salon-style discussion about the Olympics and Russia! In this twist on our traditional potlucks, we will watch highlights from the Olympics and Megan Dean Farah (BK '03) and Shoshana Iliaich (DC '10) will offer their perspectives on Russia's global projections of power and its role as host of the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. A trained historian, Megan will offer a historical snapshot of Russia's imperial strategy in the Caucasus and beyond. An intelligence analyst with a passion for Russia, Shoshana will expand the dialogue to reflect on human rights and contemporary geopolitics. Hosted by Lauren Curtis (DC'05); address to be made available to those who rsvp at: https://potluckolympics2014.eventbrite.com.

As this is an afternoon/pre-dinner potluck, please bring a light snack or beverage to share.
