Go up the stairs toward the front of the the train and exit on the NW corner of 138th street and Alexander Avenue, next to the 40th Precinct building. There you will find a plaque describing the history of the three blocks from 138th to 141st Street on Alexander Avenue, once known as the "Irish Fifth Avenue," which now form a National Historic District.
