Artists for Social Justice: A Conversation with Howardena Pindell

Thursday, October 21 @ 3:30 PM EST/12:30 PM PT: Join us in a rare opportunity to participate in a conversation with the award-winning artist Howardena Pindell. A Yale alumna, Howardena is a full professor at the State University of New York Stony Brook. Her work is included in major museums throughout the country including at MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Although globally recognized for the intricate beauty of her work, she is also respected as a consistent champion for social justice: racial and ethnic equity, homelessness, aids, genocide, and xenophobia.

Akosua Barthwell Evans, Yale Law School 1990, former Yale Alumni Association Board of Governors, and YaleWomen Council and Programming Committee Co-Chair and President of the Yale Club of Michigan will interview Howardena. Akosua is the CEO of The Barthwell Group, a strategic management consulting firm which focuses on advising corporations, not for profits, and the military regarding complex Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion challenges. A member of the Trustee Committee on Education, and the Founder of The Friends of Education at MoMA, Akosua is proud to be a collector of Howardena’s art and her friend.
