Service opportunity -- gardening in Englewood

Get your hands in the soil to celebrate the Summer Solstice by tending to the Angelic Organics
Learning Center’s Eat 2 Live community garden (http://everythinggoode2l.org/) .
This garden is the first phase in the creation of a farm business incubator at the site and is a
partnership between the Englewood community, Angelic Organics Learning Center
(learngrowconnect.com), Real Men Charities (realmencook.com), and the City of Chicago.

The garden is located at S. 71St and Princeton St., next to Yale School, one block west of Yale St.,
and one block east of Harvard St. This coincidence of names presents a unique opportunity for
Harvard, Princeton and Yale alums to join together to make a difference in their namesake area
of Englewood.

Projects will include typical summer garden chores - weeding, watering, maybe even
harvesting. We'll supply gardening tools but not gloves (recommended). Please bring your
own water and be aware that there is no bathroom facility at the site. The nearest is the
McDonald’s at 69th and Vincennes.
