NameAmelia (Amy) Armitage

Yale Affiliation: Yale School of Management '86 MBA

Where you live: Ridgefield, CT

What you doI run executive peer groups and conferences on human capital investment, workforce planning, and people analytics. I'm both an entrepreneur running my own working groups and do contract Program Director work for The Conference Board.

Your familyMy husband, Gary Mathias is also a Yale SOM alum, ’87. Gary and I have lived in New Haven, Greenwich, Atlanta, Florida, and now back in Connecticut, while adding three children to our family. The eldest, Aaron (Amherst), works for Gary in our business, Thetis Pharma, and will be starting a masters at Yale in Bio Medical Engineering in the Fall. Daughter Liana (Wesleyan) will be entering Medical School at University of Vermont in the Fall. She has been an Alzheimer’s researcher at McLean Hospital. Youngest son Simon graduated from Wharton (undergrad) this Spring where he was captain of his collegeLacrosse team (that won the Ivy’s this year).

Other Yale volunteer workElected to the Yale SOM Alumnae Board several years back; started a Fairfield County SOM chapter, and acted as Class Secretary for our 25th reunion.

Something we might not know about youMy proudest accomplishment is that all three of my kids were captains of their Lacrosse Teams in College, and I remain an avid (some would say, crazed) fan...notably at the Ivy Championship against Yale when Penn won in triple overtime. Our dog Burley, an English Golden Retriever, is still the best ground baller in the family. I enjoy tennis and Zumba.
