Alissa Hamilton, Yale alumna and author residing in Toronto, will introduce her two books on popular misconceptions about the food industry. Her recent book, Got Milked? What you don't know about dairy, the truth about calcium, and why you'll thrive without milk was released earlier this year with much publicity, debunking certain health myths propagated by the dairy industry. Alissa’s earlier book, Squeezed: What You Don’t Know About Orange Juice (2010) uncovered similar untruths about orange juice, and the industrial complex behind the surge in demand for “fresh” juice.
